In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, and with the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the Fujairah Government's Department of Public Works and Agriculture has begun implementing the ninth phase of the internal road network in various cities and regions of the Emirate of Fujairah, spanning a length of 31 kilometers.
Salem Mohammed Ali Al Maksah, Director of the Fujairah Department of Public Works and Agriculture, said that the department, under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah, has begun implementing the ninth phase of the internal roads project in the emirate, in coordination with the Fujairah and Dibba municipalities. The road network is distributed across various regions of the emirate, including Dibba Al Fujairah, Al Khalibia, Murbad, Qaraat, Qidfa, Siji, Thuban, Wadi Al Sidr, Habhab, Al Qarya, Wadi Sahm, Al Farfar, Awhala, and a number of vital roads in the emirate.
He added that the ninth phase will include the development and implementation of internal roads in Dibba Al Fujairah, Al Hail, Qaraat, Qidfa, Wadi Al Sidr, Siji, Thuban, Habhab, Al Qarya, Wadi Sahm, Al Farfar, and Awhala.
He pointed out that a (77)-kilometer rainwater drainage network will also be constructed in the Emirate of Fujairah, along with a (1.20)-kilometer tunnel in the Al Sharia area, and another (1.4)-kilometer tunnel in front of Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital.
He added that internal road works will be implemented in coordination with the Fujairah and Dibba Al Fujairah municipalities. These works include road lighting, in addition to providing road signs and traffic signals, artificial speed bumps, side parking spaces, and pedestrian crossings with traffic lights on the Corniche Road, Sheikh Zayed Road, and Al Ghurfa. This will help regulate traffic and ensure public safety for drivers.
The project to complete the internal road network is part of the Fujairah government's plans and projects to provide transportation services to members of the community and raise the level of government services provided to the public, in accordance with the highest international standards of quality and efficiency.
