The Fujairah Government's Public Works and Agriculture Department has begun implementing the eighth phase of the internal road network in various cities and regions of the Emirate of Fujairah, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
Salem Mohammed Ali Al Maksah, Director of the Fujairah Public Works and Agriculture Department, said that the department, under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah, has begun implementing its eighth phase of the internal roads project in the emirate, with a length of 20 kilometers, in coordination with the Fujairah and Dibba municipalities. The road network is distributed across various areas of the emirate, and in this phase includes the Nahi area in Al Badiyah, Sharm, Muraisheed, the first and third industrial Al Hail, Wadi Sahm, Al Seiji, Wadi Ghob, and a number of vital roads in the emirate.
He added that in the eighth phase, internal roads will be developed and implemented in the Nahi-Al Bidya area (the second and third areas) and Sharm area, and Sheikh Saif bin Hamad Street will be expanded and developed to three lanes in each direction, with the addition of an intersection and a traffic light, and the airport entrance road will be rehabilitated and developed to two lanes in each direction.
He pointed out that internal roads have been implemented in the Murshid area, the Al Hail Industrial Area (the first and third areas), and the Wadi Saham area, and the Al Siji Road has been rehabilitated and homes near the valley in the Ghoul area have been protected with a length of 250 meters and a width of 5 meters, noting the Fujairah government's interest in the security and safety of the area's residents, which allows them to easily pass and go to their homes.
He added that the implementation of internal road works in coordination with the Fujairah and Dibba Al Fujairah municipalities includes lighting the roads in addition to providing them with guidance and traffic signs, artificial speed bumps and side parking lots, which helps regulate traffic and achieve general safety for drivers.
The internal road network project that the Fujairah government is working on aims to develop the infrastructure network in the emirate and provide transportation services and road safety according to international standards that keep pace with the development process in the economic, service and tourism sectors in Fujairah and support the vision of the UAE in all fields.
