The Department of Public Works and Agriculture was established in the Emirate of Fujairah by Emiri Circular No. (1) dated 02/01/2006

Fujairah holds a unique position in the UAE. It is the only emirate that lies on the eastern side of the UAE, along the Gulf of Oman, while the other six emirates are along the Arabian Gulf.

Fujairah Plan 2040

The Fujairah 2040 plan focuses on strengthening the housing, transportation and infrastructure facilities sectors. The Fujairah Municipality has started working on projects at a cost of 1.5 billion dirhams, including improving roads, building water barriers and ports, housing complexes, and expanding health care facilities. The plan focuses on directing investment towards road construction and urban services development.
